In Monaco, Joe Cordina will face Edward Vazquez to defend his IBF super-featherweight championship

On Saturday, November 4, in Monte Carlo, Joe Cordina will face off against American Edward Vazquez to defend his IBF super-featherweight world championship.

In April 2023, the 31-year-old Welshman defeated Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in a split decision to reclaim the title.

Sive Nontshinga will defend his IBF light flyweight championship against Adrian Curiel Dominguez on the same Monaco night.

After defeating Mario Enrique Tinoco in Monaco in November 2019, Cordina is eager to go back there.

Unbeaten Cordina (16-0, 9 KOs) declared, "I'm excited to be fighting at the Casino de Monte-Carlo for a second time."

"I have fond memories of competing in Monte Carlo, winning the WBA continental title in my first fight down at super-featherweight, and I'm looking to put on another electrifying display on November 4 as I continue to work toward unifying the division," said the fighter.

A successful defence by Cordina against 27-year-old Vazquez (15-1, 3 KOs), making his first world title shot, could pave the way for a domestic showdown against the winner of Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington's clash in their WBA featherweight world title fight at Sheffield's Utility Arena on 7 Octobe
